The following is a review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – Directed by Gareth Edwards.

In 2015, J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens proudly announced that the good Star Wars was finally back. Gone are the days of the disappointing and operatic George Lucas prequels. With The Force Awakens, Lucasfilm proved that the future of the Star Wars saga – the episodes – were in good hands. But what about the untold stories of the prequels? To answer several unanswered questions Lucasfilm will give us these spin-off films that they call ‘Star Wars stories.’ Continue reading “REVIEW: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)”

Rogue One is (almost) here! – Dagobah Day #24

Dagobah Day - 2016

The long wait for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is (almost) over. I don’t know if any of you know this, but the very first Dagobah Day post was about Rogue One. I was really optimistic about this film back then, even though I didn’t like Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla. I was excited about seeing a huge Star Wars fan – who just happens to be a talented film director – get to make the film he wants to make. REVIEW: Doctor Strange (2016)

The following is a review of Doctor Strange. The reviewed film was seen in IMAX 3D.

At this point, people expect a lot from Marvel Studios. Doctor Strange is the fourteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and most of these films have been pretty well-received. Still, Doctor Strange is a bit of a risk, seeing as it is introducing magic and beings from other dimensions to the universe.

While Doctor Strange has to introduce its own corner of the universe with just this film, Marvel Studios has been releasing these films in a smart way. Marvel Studios has, essentially, been preparing moviegoers for this kind of film with Thor, Ant-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

TRAILER RECAP: Rogue One (Official Trailer #2) – Dagobah Day #22

It is finally here! Lucasfilm just released this trailer, which is believed to be the final full-length trailer for the first Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters; Godzilla). It finally gives us a good look at Jyn Erso’s father, and we get a little bit more of Darth Vader! Continue reading “TRAILER RECAP: Rogue One (Official Trailer #2) – Dagobah Day #22”

REACTION: Doctor Strange – IMAX Preview

IMAX Preview Screen

On Tuesday night, I was in Copenhagen to watch the 15-minute IMAX preview presentation of Marvel’s Doctor Strange. It was a real experience, so I thought I’d tell you about it. Honestly, Doctor Strange looks incredible, and if you attended a screening of these 15 minutes then you’d be convinced. Cinematographer Ben Davis wasn’t lying when he called this Marvel’s Fantasia.

Mads Mikkelsen in Rogue One – Dagobah Day #20

Dagobah Day - 2016

Mads Mikkelsen is one of my favorite actors out there, and definitely my favorite Danish actor ever. We’ve known for a little while now that Mikkelsen is playing the father of Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones) in Rogue One. But we haven’t seen his character in either of the two trailers. This month, let’s talk about what we know about the mysterious Galen Erso.

Did Jiang Wen Just Spoil Rogue One? – Dagobah Day #16

Dagobah Day - 2016

The following is a special Dagobah Day. Dagobah Day is normally released on the first Monday of every month.

So the Rogue One-panel was pretty cool. Gwendoline Christie moderated it, we got a pretty cool new poster, they released a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel, and the crowd got to see a special teaser trailer. But the biggest news from the panel was a huge mistake. Jiang Wen might’ve spoiled the film.  Continue reading “Did Jiang Wen Just Spoil Rogue One? – Dagobah Day #16”

Trailer Review: Marvel’s Doctor Strange (Teaser Trailer #1)

Our first look at Marvel’s Doctor Strange has hit the Web! The two-minute teaser trailer for Marvel’s Doctor Strange premiered last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC, and today I want to recap and review the solid teaser that might not blow you away, but definitely does let you peep through the keyhole and into the mind-bending universe of Doctor Strange.

Trailer Review: Rogue One (Teaser Trailer #1) – Dagobah Day #12

It’s finally here! I’ve been really excited for the first Anthology Film in the Star Wars canon, and Rogue One is that film. It tells the story of how the Rebel Alliance got the plans to the Death Star. Basically, this is one of the most intriguing stories to tell around the time of the original trilogy. So, watch the trailer, come back to this page, and then let’s go over some of the shots in the trailer.
