‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,’ Focus Features.

You would be surprised to learn how many great break-up films there are. Today I want to highlight five of the very best break-up films. Now, this isn’t exactly a ‘guide.’ I’m not saying you should watch all of these films when you break up with someone, or is broken up with. In fact, don’t. But I will say that #1 is perfect for that, if that is, indeed, what you need.  Continue reading “Top Five Break-Up Movies”

Introducing ‘Top Ten Tuesday’

top-10-tuesdays

Change is coming. Detective Comics Saturday has been on hiatus for a little while, and it’s not alone. Testing Television isn’t ‘gone for now’ but it won’t be posted at least once a month anymore. The Collection and Thespians and Filmmakers are getting the Testing Television treatment too. What content is going to be replacing those three post series, you may ask? Top Ten ‘Horror/Thriller’ Films of the 21st Century – So Far (2016)

ijr-list-horror-21st

Since we just celebrated Halloween, I thought I should do a list of horror films. I thought it’d be a good idea to name my top ten favorite horror films from the 21st century (so far). Now, I ended up using a somewhat loose interpretation of horror. You will also find both horror comedies and select thrillers on this list. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some of my favorite ‘new’ horror films and the like. Continue reading “Top Ten ‘Horror/Thriller’ Films of the 21st Century – So Far (2016)”

Halloween 2016: 5 Horror Films To Watch

halloween-2016

It’s the creepiest time of the year! Halloween is almost always an enjoyable thing to celebrate, and, at the very least, you have an excuse to dress up and watch horror films all day. Today, I wanted to list five films that I think you should watch this Halloween.

It’s way too easy to just name one of the Halloween films, so I’m not going to do that, but these are all films I really enjoy watching, even if horror isn’t my favorite genre at all. So, without further ado, let’s get to it.

Top 10 – Harry Potter Characters

top-10-harry-potter-characters

We’ve reached the end of this week’s event series of posts: Harry Potter Week. I’ve reviewed every single Harry Potter film, and I’m now ready to watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them when it gets its theatrical release next month.

But before I do that, I want to end this Harry Potter Week with a solid series finale. Today, I’m ranking the top 10 characters from the Harry Potter series of films released between 2001 and 2011. Now, don’t worry about the three protagonists finishing one, two, and three – that’s not happening. So, without further ado, here are the top 10 characters from Harry Potter. Top 10 Supporting Characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Marvelous Monday #53

Marvelous Monday Outline

I’ve had a lot of fun doing these different top ten lists for Dagobah Day, so I thought I should maybe try to do that for Marvelous Monday. This Monday, I’m ranking ten of the best supporting characters. Villains don’t count. If you have your own solo film, then you don’t count. Characters from Agent Carter or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are eligible. Full members of the Avengers don’t count, not even Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Falcon, Vision, or War Machine. And I don’t think the new Spider-Man should count either. So, with that out of the way, let’s get to it.

Top 10 Best Moments in the Original Trilogy – Dagobah Day #15

Dagobah Day - 2016

Last month, Dagobah Day focused on the best moments in the prequel trilogy. It wasn’t always easy to point out what moments were good, in three movies that aren’t that great. Today I didn’t have trouble finding good moments. Instead, my biggest problem was to rank the greatest moments of the original trilogy. The original trilogy is one of the best trilogies of all-time. So, today I want to single out ten of the greatest moments in the original trilogy, to remind Star Wars-fans how lucky we are to have these films and these characters. Continue reading “Top 10 Best Moments in the Original Trilogy – Dagobah Day #15”

Top 10 Best Moments in the Prequel Trilogy – Dagobah Day #14

Dagobah Day - 2016

The prequel trilogy gets a lot of hate, and, look, I get it, there are a lot of reasons why you’d dislike or even hate the prequel trilogy films. Personally, I really like Revenge of the Sith a lot, but I really dislike huge chunks of the two other prequels. Today I want to single out ten of the greatest moments in the prequel trilogy, to remind Star Wars-fans that there are great things about the trilogy.
