Slow News Day – Dagobah Day #28

dago-feb-2017

So, yeah, I had hoped to write about a teaser trailer for The Last Jedi today, but no such trailer was released during Super Bowl sunday. Therefore I actually don’t have a lot to talk about today. There isn’t really a pressing news story that needs to be addressed. So, instead, I’ll give you an update on Dagobah Day and the Star Wars coverage on the blog. Episode 8 is ‘The Last Jedi’ – Dagobah Day #27

dagobah-day-the-last-jedi

Well. Well. Well. We finally have a title. And I think it’s an absolutely fantastic Star Wars title. Today I want to talk about how I interpret the title and the ‘red lettering’ of the teaser poster. It could be really straightforward, but maybe – just maybe – it hints at someone not many people see as a Jedi right now. Let’s get to it.  Continue reading “Episode 8 is ‘The Last Jedi’ – Dagobah Day #27”

2017: The Journey to Episode VIII Continues – Dagobah Day #26

new-dagobah-day-26

We’ve seen Rogue One, and now we’re looking forward to the next chapter in the Star Wars saga – Star Wars: Episode VIII. We’ve still got quite a way to go before we’re watching the movie, but I thought that I’d sort of prepare you for what I’m looking forward to in the world of Star Wars in 2017.

Farewell, Princess – Dagobah Day #25

When I saw Rogue One, I expected that it would be the subject of the twenty-fifth Dagobah Day. Then, a couple of days ago, Carrie Fisher suffered a heart attack during a flight. I had hoped and prayed that she would survive it, but I’ve just learned that our Princess has passed away.  Continue reading “Farewell, Princess – Dagobah Day #25”

The following is a review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – Directed by Gareth Edwards.

In 2015, J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens proudly announced that the good Star Wars was finally back. Gone are the days of the disappointing and operatic George Lucas prequels. With The Force Awakens, Lucasfilm proved that the future of the Star Wars saga – the episodes – were in good hands. But what about the untold stories of the prequels? To answer several unanswered questions Lucasfilm will give us these spin-off films that they call ‘Star Wars stories.’ Continue reading “REVIEW: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)”

Rogue One is (almost) here! – Dagobah Day #24

Dagobah Day - 2016

The long wait for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is (almost) over. I don’t know if any of you know this, but the very first Dagobah Day post was about Rogue One. I was really optimistic about this film back then, even though I didn’t like Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla. I was excited about seeing a huge Star Wars fan – who just happens to be a talented film director – get to make the film he wants to make. Box Office: Rogue One Predictions! – Dagobah Day #23

Dagobah Day - 2016

The first Star Wars spin-off film – Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – opens in about a month, one year after the release of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Episode VII broke a lot of records, but what can we expect Rogue One to do this year? Let’s talk about Rogue One‘s chances at the box office.

RETRO REVIEW: Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002)

The following is a retro review of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, a George Lucas film.

While I don’t love every film in the franchise, I clearly love Star Wars. I write about the franchise all the time. So while it is pretty obvious, it pains me to admit that The Phantom Menace wasn’t a good movie. I tried not to tear that film apart in my review of it.

I wanted to review this film right after reviewing The Phantom Menace, but, for some reason, it took me a very long time to finally muster up enough strength to write about this film. This review has been delayed for way too long. Let’s finally talk about the worst Star Wars film. Continue reading “RETRO REVIEW: Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002)”

We live in the greatest time to ever be a fan of something.
