March Madness: Star Wars-Edition – Special Features #20

I know, I know — people get super excited about college basketball in America, but, here’s the thing, one, I can’t watch the games and, two, I don’t really care about the March Madness NCAA tournament, to be perfectly honest with you.

But, hey, I like the whole bracketology obsession that March Madness has fostered, so I want to do my own thing here. Each and every year going forward, at the end of March, I want to do my own form of March Madness where I answer a pop culture, filmmaking, fanboy question or the like via the whole bracket format. This year, I want to figure out which Star Wars character is the best of all-time.  (more…)

Drew Struzan’s Release Poster – 20th Century Fox

The following is a retro review of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, a George Lucas film.

While I don’t love every film in the franchise, I clearly love Star Wars. I write about the franchise all the time. So while it is pretty obvious, it pains me to admit that The Phantom Menace wasn’t a good movie. I tried not to tear that film apart in my review of it.

I wanted to review this film right after reviewing The Phantom Menace, but, for some reason, it took me a very long time to finally muster up enough strength to write about this film. This review has been delayed for way too long. Let’s finally talk about the worst Star Wars film. (more…)

It is finally here! Lucasfilm just released this trailer, which is believed to be the final full-length trailer for the first Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters; Godzilla). Rogue One Predictions – Dagobah Day #21

Dagobah Day - 2016

Last September, Dagobah Day focused on four predictions I had for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Two of my four predictions look pretty good today and – technically – the last two could still be true if they explain more about Snoke and Poe in the future.

I’m not caught up on the Poe Dameron comic book, so that may have actually debunked my theory. Today, I want to try to speculate and make some predictions about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘s plot.

They released a celebration reel back when Star Wars Celebration Europe was happening, and before that they released an official teaser trailer, which I reviewed here. But now we have our first full trailer, and it’s glorious. First, let’s take a look at what was said in the trailer:

Top 10 Best Moments in the Original Trilogy – Dagobah Day #15

Dagobah Day - 2016

Last month, Dagobah Day focused on the best moments in the prequel trilogy. It wasn’t always easy to point out what moments were good, in three movies that aren’t that great. Today I didn’t have trouble finding good moments. Instead, my biggest problem was to rank the greatest moments of the original trilogy. The original trilogy is one of the best trilogies of all-time. So, today I want to single out ten of the greatest moments in the original trilogy, to remind Star Wars-fans how lucky we are to have these films and these characters. (more…)
