Let’s talk about the Super Bowl 51 Trailers and TV Spots

Stranger Things Super Bowl

Super Bowl sunday has come and gone, and the New England Patriots are ‘world champions’ after winning Super Bowl 51. But that’s not what I want to talk about here. Every Super Bowl sunday always gives us these really great TV Spots for our favorite future films or shows, and this year was no different. Let’s take a look at the best and worst teasers of the night. Continue reading “Let’s talk about the Super Bowl 51 Trailers and TV Spots”

REVIEW: Rings (2017)

Theatrical Release Poster - Paramount Pictures

The following is a review of Rings – Directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez

First you watch it, then you die – I guess that is one way to market your movie. The first American remake of the popular Japanese film Ringu (which was an adaptation of a Japanese horror novel) was actually quite successful and effective. Gore Verbinski’s The Ring was absolutely terrifying, but I don’t think anyone will think as highly of Gutiérrez’s Rings. I don’t exactly hate the seemingly pessimistic tagline, but I really dislike the film. Continue reading “REVIEW: Rings (2017)”

REVIEW: Split (2017)

The following is a review of Split – Directed by M. Night Shyamalan

M. Night Shyamalan has had an interesting career so far. He was once called the next Steven Spielberg and the ‘hottest’ name in storytelling, but when he released The Village, which got mixed reviews, his career fell off a cliff. Suddenly, the guy who was known for his fun story twists, became known for films like The Last Airbender and The Happening. M. Night Shyamalan became known as the guy that made perhaps the most unintentionally funny natural disaster film of the 21st Century (I am again, of course, referring to The Happening). Will La La Land Break the Record For Most Oscar Wins?

la-la-land-academy-analysis-record

Now, I still haven’t gotten a chance to see La La Land as it hasn’t been released in Denmark yet. So it’s tough for me to really say if La La Land deserves every nomination it got. But it did get a record-tying 14 nominations for the Academy Awards, which only Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s All About Eve and James Cameron’s Titanic have gotten before.  Continue reading “Will La La Land Break the Record For Most Oscar Wins?”

Episode 8 is ‘The Last Jedi’ – Dagobah Day #27

dagobah-day-the-last-jedi

Well. Well. Well. We finally have a title. And I think it’s an absolutely fantastic Star Wars title. Today I want to talk about how I interpret the title and the ‘red lettering’ of the teaser poster. It could be really straightforward, but maybe – just maybe – it hints at someone not many people see as a Jedi right now. Let’s get to it.  Continue reading “Episode 8 is ‘The Last Jedi’ – Dagobah Day #27”

‘Manchester by the Sea,’ Amazon Studios

And here we are! I had a lot of fun with trying to predict the nominations this awards season, it went a little bit better than last year’s predictions. I believe I got 77% of my predictions correct this year. But that’s not important. Now, let’s discuss the biggest shocks and surprises from this year’s nominations.
