The following is a review of X-Men: Apocalypse, a Bryan Singer film.

I think X-Men: First Class is one of the most brilliant superhero-team movies ever made. The sequel, Days of Future Past, was a confident time-travel film, and I thought that film really worked well too. Indeed, since we’ve been met with the second wave of X-Men-films, starting with First Class in 2011, the franchise has been pretty spectacular. May Update: ‘The Collection’ Shake-Up & Introduction of ‘Casting’

  • The Collection – No longer posts on the third Monday of the month, and Favorite Thespians has now overtaken that spot. The Collection is now getting a new format as well. Writing about one movie a month without reviewing it just did not work for me. Now, instead, at some point late in every month I’ll be releasing a The Collection-update, in which I’ll jot down five films that have been added to the list.
  • Casting: Who Should Play Who? – For a while now, I’ve been loving writing about who I’d cast as this character or that character in this or that movie. So, I decided to make a series of posts about that very idea. Casting will be taking on the fourth Monday of every month-spot.

One last time. One final adventure. Uncharted is one of the great video game console series, and with A Thief’s End we are seeing the conclusion to Nathan Drake’s story. Naughty Dog, the developer of the game, holds a special place in my heart for having made Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, and The Last of Us (my favorite game of all-time). Trailer Review: Assassin’s Creed (Official Trailer #1)

The Assassin’s Creed trailer is finally here! I’ve been pretty excited for this film for a while as it was on my ‘My 10 Most Anticipated Film of 2016‘ list. I’ve played 7 of the current 9 games in the Assassin’s Creed main series of games. Justin Kurzel is directing the film, and both Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard star in the video game adaptation: it’s basically a Macbeth-reunion. The Kurzel-Macbeth was great, and I am so excited to see if this will be the first truly great movie based on a video game. So, let’s discuss the trailer. I’ve been cautiously excited for Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising ever since I first heard about it. Neighbors was such a surprise hit in 2014, I thought it was so much fun. But time and time again we see bad comedy sequels. Neighbors 2 definitely isn’t bad, and it is worth seeing for fans of the first film, but the theatrical release version of Neighbors 2 wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be. In mid-to-late 2014 Netflix arrived in France, and by now the streaming service has pretty much gone global. It was only a matter of time before Netflix catered directly to the French-speaking audience by producing a show centered in France, with the French language at the forefront, available everywhere. Suicide Squad is the next film in the DC Cinematic Universe, and even though the superhero genre is the most popular genre in this century so far, DC/WB have had some trouble in kickstarting their cinematic universe. Man of Steel was polarizing, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was critically panned, but what about Suicide Squad?
