REVIEW: Coffee & Kareem (2020)

The following is a short review of Coffee & Kareem — Directed by Michael Dowse.

Michael Dowse’s Coffee & Kareem is an action-comedy buddy film about police officer James Coffee (played by Ed Helms) and his attempt to connect with and establish a rapport with his girlfriend’s son, Kareem (played by Terrence Little Gardenhigh), who both doesn’t trust law enforcement and is protective of his mother (played by Taraji P. Henson). While driving Kareem home from school, both Kareem and officer Coffee become involved in dangerous criminal activity and encounter dirty cops. REVIEW: Spenser Confidential (2020)

The following is a review of Spenser Confidential — Directed by Peter Berg.

Though I have yet to see Mile 22, I have liked every other Peter Berg-Mark Wahlberg collaboration — Lone Survivor; Deepwater Horizon; and Patriots Day — that came out prior to Spenser Confidential. So when I found out that Berg and Wahlberg were reteaming for a new Netflix film, I was very interested and, frankly, a little bit excited. I was hoping that Netflix had finally made a good, solid, and rewatchable action flick. However, Spenser Confidential is a terrible disappointment. Berg and Wahlberg’s partnership has not provided us with anything good this time around. It’s almost at the point where the only thing I liked about this movie were the dogs in it. Comedy isn’t black-and-white. The genre most associated with films like your average American comedy like, say, American Pie or some Judd Apatow film is much more than its stereotype. There are stylish and quirky comedies, absurd and dark comedies. Comedy films come in all shapes and sizes, and the Best of the 2010s-list highlights multiple different types in the genre. REVIEW: Game Over, Man! (2018)

The following is a review of Game Over, Man! — A Netflix Film.

Game Over, Man! is an action-comedy very clearly inspired by Die Hard, even though the title of this film, for some odd reason, refers to a popular Bill Paxton quote from Aliens. This film, however, follows three housekeepers working at a hotel capable of attracting wealthy individuals and celebrities for late night partying. REVIEW: Lethal Weapon – “There Goes the Neighborhood”

The following is a quick episode spoiler review of FOX’s Lethal Weapon. Available in Denmark on Viaplay.

In the fourth episode of FOX’s Lethal Weapon, our buddy cops end up with a very personal case, as Murtaugh (played by Damon Wayans) has to try to stop an armed robbery in his own neighborhood. It gets even worse when an armed robbery goes really, really wrong, and a friend of RJ’s is involved.

In the third episode of FOX’s Lethal Weapon, a case gets personal as Murtaugh’s (played by Damon Wayans) old training officer (played by Ted Levine) is hurt in a case involving the Cartel. Meanwhile, Riggs (played by Clayne Crawford) once again struggles with his grief.
