In fact, since my team is almost never in the Super Bowl, I tend to obsess over the Academy Awards more than the Super Bowl. Today – just like every year – I want to reveal my predictions for the big event. Continue reading “89th Academy Awards – Predictions”

Will La La Land Break the Record For Most Oscar Wins?

la-la-land-academy-analysis-record

Now, I still haven’t gotten a chance to see La La Land as it hasn’t been released in Denmark yet. So it’s tough for me to really say if La La Land deserves every nomination it got. But it did get a record-tying 14 nominations for the Academy Awards, which only Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s All About Eve and James Cameron’s Titanic have gotten before.  Continue reading “Will La La Land Break the Record For Most Oscar Wins?”

marvelous-monday-oscars

I love the Oscars. Sure, there’s almost always controversy. Sure, the Academy doesn’t always recognize my favorite films, but it’s always entertaining. To me, at the very least. But I just realized something. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is on the top of pretty much every Hollywood actor’s wish list, somehow the franchise has never won an Oscar.

88TH ACADEMY AWARDS: REACTION – MOTION PICTURE THOUGHTS #7

MOTION PICTURE THOUGHTS

Leonardo DiCaprio – Academy Award-Winning Actor! Finally! The 88th Academy Awards was a great show, with a lot of great winners. Today I’m trying to predict the winners of each and every category! Continue reading “88th Academy Awards: Predictions – Motion Picture Thoughts #6”

REVIEW: The Revenant (2015)

Theatrical Release Poster – 20th Century Fox

The following is a review of The Revenant (2015).

The Revenant was my original pick for my most anticipated film of the 2015 Oscar-season. I was looking forward to the stylistic approach, DiCaprio’s performance, and to see Iñarritu and Lubezki work together again. Now that I have seen the film, I regret to inform you that while the stylistic approach is admirable, this is not a film that I will be recommending. Continue reading “REVIEW: The Revenant (2015)”
