Early Best Actor Predictions – Special Features #4

A couple of weeks ago, I released my early predictions for Best Picture at the 90th Academy Awards. This week, I’m looking at another category. Last year, Casey Affleck won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance as Lee Chandler in Manchester by the Sea. But what about next year? Is it finally time for Gyllenhaal or Oldman, or will Hanks or Day-Lewis nab yet another win? Continue reading “Early Best Actor Predictions – Special Features #4”

The Craziest Moment in Oscar History?

It was just going to be the same kind of reaction post that I do every year, but then something happened. Warren Beatty had been given the wrong envelope. Faye Dunaway thus announced the wrong Best Picture winner. This is insane. Unbelievable. Moonlight is the real Best Picture winner. Continue reading “The Craziest Moment in Oscar History?”

Today – just like every year – I want to reveal my predictions for the big event. Continue reading “89th Academy Awards – Predictions”

la-la-land-academy-analysis-record

Now, I still haven’t gotten a chance to see La La Land as it hasn’t been released in Denmark yet. So it’s tough for me to really say if La La Land deserves every nomination it got. But it did get a record-tying 14 nominations for the Academy Awards, which only Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s All About Eve and James Cameron’s Titanic have gotten before.  Continue reading “Will La La Land Break the Record For Most Oscar Wins?”

Marvel at the Oscars – Marvelous Monday #56

marvelous-monday-oscars

I love the Oscars. Sure, there’s almost always controversy. Sure, the Academy doesn’t always recognize my favorite films, but it’s always entertaining. To me, at the very least.
