#ThankYouČech – A Tribute to Petr Čech

BigPetrCech

We are counting down what seems to be the final hours of Petr Čech’s Chelsea FC playing career. Rumors and papers suggest that he’ll be staying in London, they suggest that he’ll be playing for Arsenal for the next couple of seasons – thus making a rival a true title-contender. This is a sad rumor, which I suspect to be true, but in the end we have to respect his decision. For this isn’t him saying he’d rather play at Arsenal. No, this is him saying he’d rather play than be on the bench. Continue reading “#ThankYouČech – A Tribute to Petr Čech”

REVIEW: Entourage (2015)

Warner Bros. Pictures poster for Entourage (2015)

The following is a spoiler-free review of Entourage (Movie)

The original HBO show was a guilty pleasure of mine. Naturally, I was interested in seeing the gang back together. I was worried, however, that this would just ruin the ending of the show that I really enjoyed. Sadly, that is what it did. Continue reading “REVIEW: Entourage (2015)”

Marvelous Monday #22 – Guardians of the Galaxy Was Special To Me

I'm Jeffrey Rex' Marvelous Monday 22 - Personal

Spoiler Warning For: Guardians of the Galaxy

Real talk. Today’s post is really important. Today’s post is really personal. Today I am going to write about how Guardians of the Galaxy was a very special movie to me, and to my family – I am going to explain how it helped us out. I don’t just love that hero-squad because they got me back into comics. The film also helped me heal after the loss of a loved one. REVIEW: Jurassic World (2015)

Universal Pictures poster for Jurassic World

The following is a spoiler-free review of Jurassic World (2015).

It’s been 22 years since the original Steven Spielberg film, and it has been a bumpy ride for the franchise ever since. I, personally, enjoyed The Lost World – but understood why people disliked it. Jurassic Park III was, for most people, a disappointment. How good is Jurassic World? I think it’s actually very good. Continue reading “REVIEW: Jurassic World (2015)”

Marvelous Monday #21 – What Should Be On ‘Awesome Mix Vol. 2’?

I'm Jeffrey Rex' Marvelous Monday - Awesome Mix 2

Okay, so I was gonna put a spoiler warning here – but you’ve all seen Guardians of the Galaxy. RIGHT!?

Guardians of the Galaxy was the best mainstream film of last year, and was surprisingly fairly seperate from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Other than Rocket and Groot, the soundtrack was the breakout star of the film – and for some (me) it’s the very best movie soundtrack of all-time. REVIEW: EX_MACHINA (2015)

The following is a review of EX_MACHINA — Directed by Alex Garland.

This is a film that I have been really excited about for a long time. The trailer just hooked me immediately. Though, for some unknown reason, I don’t believe it was ever released in theaters in Denmark. Therefore I had to wait until I got my hands on the Blu-Ray. Thankfully, the long wait was worth it. This is a cerebral science-fiction classic-in-the-making. Continue reading “REVIEW: EX_MACHINA (2015)”

I.J.R. Awards 2015 – Current Frontrunners

For the uninitiated: In 2013 I launched a yearly ‘award’ post for the blog called I’m Jeffrey Rex Awards, this post names the current frontrunners (up to two titles for each award).

In a month we’ll be halfway through the year, therefore I’ve decided to look back and note my current frontrunners for each award, and reveal if there are any changes for this year’s I’m Jeffrey Rex Awards. Continue reading “I.J.R. Awards 2015 – Current Frontrunners”

REVIEW: Mad Max – Fury Road (2015)

Warner Bros. Pictures poster for Mad Max: Fury Road

The following is a review of Mad Max: Fury Road — Directed by George Miller.

Thirty years ago the last Mad Max-film, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, was released. Although all three films are beloved by fans, it is still somewhat of a cult franchise. Sure, very few people realize just how much the original Mad Max films gave to its genre. Yes, some people have surely understimated the impact of the film series. But the franchise is, by no means, a film that young audiences hold dear right now. Nevertheless, you don’t get many better dystopian action films than Mad Max: Road Warrior. However, I am pleased to report that the latest Mad Max-sequel, Mad Max: Fury Road, actually tops it. George Miller’s latest film is absolutely terrific.
