Today I’m revealing the first half of the 2018 nominations for this blog’s IJR Awards (I’m Jeffrey Rex Awards, but you probably already guessed that). The two legend awards (Film Legend and TV Legend) aren’t getting any nominees, instead, I’ll reveal the winners, or honorees, in the two upcoming IJR Awards 2018-posts.
The second half of the nominations (the film nominations) will be revealed at some point in February so that I am able to watch some of the Oscarworthy films that won’t be released in Denmark until the beginning of 2019. Without further ado, let’s get to it.

UNFORGETTABLE TELEVISION QUOTE OF THE YEAR
- “So I guess I have technically had my first audition, but it was just, like, in North Hollywood, in this guy’s apartment. And he was like, “Dance.” And so I was like, “What is this going to be on?” And then he said, “The Internet.”” – Barry: Commit… To You
- “If you want to have a hobby or something, then you can take up painting. Hitler painted! John Wayne Gacy painted. It’s a good, solid hobby. It never got in the way of what they were doing.” – Barry: Make Your Mark
- “This isn’t fun for me. Being a woman is not a hobby or a pet interest of mine. You get to drop in and play Joss Whedon and everybody cheers, but when you move on to your next thing I’m still here.” – BoJack Horseman: BoJack the Feminist
- “My demons are not remotely tackled. They’re just mildly concussed.” – Sharp Objects: Dirt
- “Do you want to know what they are really celebrating in there? That, darling, is the sound of fools fiddling while the whole fucking species starts to burn. And the funniest fucking part? They lit the match. So, here’s to you, assholes. May your forever be blissfully short.” – Westworld: Reunion
The winners of the TV, Games, Superhero, and Music Awards will be revealed on December 31st, 2018.
My annual Top Ten TV-Shows of the Year-list will be revealed on January 1st, 2019.
The nominations for the remaining Film Awards will be revealed during February 2019.
Updated on December 22nd: Two nominations were changed in part due to further consideration (an episode of BoJack Horseman was added, and an episode nomination was taken away from Sharp Objects), but also the fact that I finally got the chance to watch The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
– Jeffrey Rex Bertelsen.
