REVIEW: Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 (2017)

Theatrical Release Poster – Marvel Studios

The following is a review of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 – Directed by James Gunn

The first Guardians of the Galaxy film was very special to me. It arrived at the right time for me and family. My Godmother had just passed away, and Guardians of the Galaxy was the first film we saw as a family since she had passed away. Guardians of the Galaxy made me laugh, it made me cry, and I, to this day, still think of it as one of my favorite films of all-time. It had a huge effect on me.

I, however, never expected Volume 2 to have as big an impact on me as James Gunn’s first Marvel film had and, honestly, it didn’t. But while Volume 2 isn’t as good as the original film, I still really loved it and it did make me emotional more than once. (more…)

Uncharted: The Movie – Casting #1

CASTING - Who Should Play Who?

Casting has replaced The Collection on the monthly schedule. The Collection will return on an unspecified date.

Uncharted is one of the most beloved Sony PlayStation video game franchises of all-time. It is incredibly cinematic, and it definitely should become a movie, or a series of movies, one day in the future. But before the movie studio starts to pick who should play Nathan Drake, let’s beat them to the punch. Who should be in the cast for an Uncharted: The Movie. (more…)

REVIEW: 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

Theatrical Release Poster – Bad Robot – Paramount

The following is a review of ’10 Cloverfield Lane’, a Dan Trachtenberg film.

Let’s talk about expectations. The tagline of the film, “Monsters come in many forms,” is the truest representation of the film. With the original Cloverfield we were treated to a found-footage monster movie, but 10 Cloverfield Lane is a much more polished, suspenseful, and mysterious thriller. It is a very different movie, so manage your expectations. But I think I actually like 10 Cloverfield Lane more than its titular relative.  (more…)

REVIEW: Wet Hot American Summer – First Day of Camp (2015)

First Day of Camp

“Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” is available on Netflix and functions as a prequel to the 2001 comedy “Wet Hot American Summer”

Let me preface this by saying that I didn’t watch the original film when it was first released. Somehow I had never heard of the film until a few years ago. Before watching the film I considered it a potential hidden gem featuring some of my favorite actors. Then I watched it, and I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked the film – but I never loved it. Somehow this prequel show made me a believer. (more…)

Han Solo is getting a solo film – Dagobah Day #3

I'm Jeffrey Rex' Dagobah Day

Welcome back to Dagobah!

Dagobah Day is a recurring opinion piece / news post on all things Star Wars. This time on Dagobah, I go over the details of the Anthology Film that was just announced a couple of days ago (July 7th 2015), and the actors that could play a ‘young’ Han Solo. Also, I wonder, what do they mean by ‘young’? (more…)
