Marvelous Monday #49 – Casting Cable
Marvelous Monday in 2016 posts once a month, on the second Monday of the month.
Oh what a Marvelous Monday. By now it’s common knowledge that Deadpool was a great film, and that they want to introduce Cable in the sequel. Now, I’ve already heard people mention their dream Cables, like Tom Hardy or Dolph Lundgren or whatever. Today I want to present three actors that I think would be cheap, safe, and solid options for 20th Century Fox to put in Deadpool 2 / Deadpool & Cable. Favorite Thespians #2 – Ryan Reynolds
In honor of the great Deadpool-film, I’m moving my Favorite Thespians-schedule around a bit. This time it’s all about Ryan Reynolds! Favorite Thespians is a monthly opinion piece wherein I name one of my favorite actors or actresses. Favorite Thespians contains three separate sections: one section on the first film I saw the thespian in (“On My Radar”), another section on 5 films you need to see to know the thespian (“Homework”), and a section on my favorite performance from him/her. REVIEW: Deadpool (2016)

The following is a review of Deadpool, a 20th Century Fox film.
This movie has been in development for over a decade. The character was almost scrapped completely due to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The aforementioned Wolverine-movie drove Ryan Reynolds into the role of Hal Jordan in Green Lantern, which wasn’t a great superhero film either. Then something crazy happened. In mid-2014 test footage for a proposed Deadpool-film was leaked online. The fan reaction was insane, and it forced 20th Century Fox’s hands. Suddenly, Deadpool was a reality. And you know what? Somehow the end result is absolutely fantastic. It was worth the wait. Continue reading “REVIEW: Deadpool (2016)”

2016 is a pretty huge year for superhero fans, at least if you follow the films. WB/DC has Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in March and Suicide Squad in August. Marvel Studios has Captain America: Civil War in May and Doctor Strange in November. But we mustn’t forget Fox who has a couple of their own superhero films – including the very first superhero film of 2016. Today is all about Deadpool! Continue reading “Marvelous Monday #48 – Get Ready For Deadpool!”
