The following is a review of Thor: Ragnarok – Directed by Taika Waititi
Are you the kind of person whose idea of a good time is watching a Norse God beat up countless of faceless goons on a rainbow bridge while Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song plays? If that is a ‘yes,’ then there is a pretty good chance that you are going to fall in love with Thor: Ragnarok, which also includes a scene where the Hulk fights a supersized wolf. Thor: Ragnarok is one of the most intriguing superhero films this year. It’s being directed by Taika Waititi, who is primarily known for What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. The two previous Thor films were directed by, first, a fantastic Shakespearian actor-director and, then, a TV director most known for his work on Game of Thrones and The Sopranos. Based on this trailer, Waititi’s version may not take itself as seriously as one might’ve feared.

The following is a review of Independence Day: Resurgence, a Roland Emmerich film.
It’s been twenty years since the release of the original Independence Day. That film from 1996 is a nice, fun little popcorn film. I have a lot of fun with it, even if it isn’t considered a ‘great film’. That said, I was really pessimistic when I sat down in the theater to watch the sequel, Resurgence. I had heard that Will Smith wasn’t in the sequel, and that Mae Whitman had been replaced by Maika Monroe. I was worried, but I wanted to like the film. Now I’ve seen it, and it’s even worse than I had feared.

Seeing as Jurassic World is breaking all of the box office records none of us thought could be broken by a fourth entry in a franchise that has been silent since 2001, I decided to make my own list of the very best characters in the Jurassic-Franchise.
Do note that no dinosaurs will be mentioned, as they – quite frankly – would dominate any list that included them.
