IJR Awards 2018: Film Nominations Announced

It is finally time for me to announce my own personal film nominations for the I’m Jeffrey Rex Awards of 2018. Sure, we’re in 2019 now, but I needed some time to watch some of the films that were released in January in Denmark.

There will be a couple of surprises here, and I’m not just talking about the nominees. Four awards that have not previously been announced will make their debut here with their own sets of nominations. Crazy Early 92nd Academy Awards Predictions – Special Features #46

Okay, I know. This is insane. But I enjoyed doing it last year, so it’s happening again! The 91st Academy Awards haven’t even been held, and I’ve only seen, like, twelve films from 2019 at this point. I love writing about the awards season, but, to be honest with you, I find the annual best picture frontrunner backlash to be draining. Final 91st Academy Awards Nomination Predictions – Special Features #44

Nomination voting is over. Many precursor nominations have already happened, and now we are just waiting for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to announce what stars and films they want to honor. 76th Golden Globes Results: Reaction – Special Features #42

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association had not gone gaga for Gaga (or A Star is Born). Glenn Close made the Best Actress-Oscars category into a true battle. Roma performed well.
