It’s finally that time of the year again. Better Call Saul, which is currently my favorite show on television, is back. You know, it’s funny. Before I had seen the show, I was extremely worried about Better Call Saul somehow retroactively hurting Breaking Bad. As we now know, my fears were unfounded as Better Call Saul has become not just a great spin-off show, but also my personal favorite spin-off show.
In the first episode of the third season – Mabel – ‘Gene’ briefly shows his true colors, Kim Wexler grows increasingly paranoid about her own work, Mike Ehrmantraut tries to figure out who’s been watching him, and Jimmy McGill has ten good minutes with his brother.

When you watch the high number shows of that people who review television do, you get a ton of surprises, but you’re also often reminded of the greatness of a show that you may have underestimated in the past. This year shows like Westworld, The Night Of, and Stranger Things really surprised me. Whereas I was reminded how great BoJack Horseman and House of Cards can be.

The following is a review of the second season of Better Call Saul. Expect spoilers for the first two seasons.
Last year, with the first season of Better Call Saul, I became even more enthralled with the Breaking Bad-universe. Somehow the television masterpiece that Vince Gilligan created was being strengthened by a prequel spin-off show. As I mentioned in the season one review, I was worried about what it would do to the legacy of Breaking Bad. I wasn’t sure if it would work. Well, I ended up loving the first season of Better Call Saul, and the second season did not disappoint either. Better Call Saul is currently my favorite show on television.
