REVIEW: Love – Season One (2016)

The following is a season review of Love, a Netflix Original show.

Love is the newest Netflix Original show, and it came with a lot of baggage and expectations. Netflix Original shows have mostly been pretty excellent, and the last romantic comedy to come from Netflix (Master of None) was one of the better comedy shows of 2015. Also, Judd Apatow is the co-creator of Love, and therefore I had high expectations. Love is some sort of mixture of HBO’s Girls and Trainwreck, but it isn’t as good as either of them. REVIEW: Agent Carter – Season One (2015)

The following is a season review of Marvel’s Agent Carter, available on ABC and Netflix Denmark.

Marvel’s Agent Carter started as a Marvel One-Shot about the S.S.R. Agent Peggy Carter, it was a spin-off of Captain America: The First Avenger. Not unlike Agent Coulson, Peggy Carter has been known to show up in various capacities in Marvel Cinematic Universe films, even those that have little to do with Captain America. REVIEW: Mozart in the Jungle – Season Two (2015)

The following is a review of the second season of Amazon Studio’s Mozart in the Jungle, available on Amazon Video, and on Viaplay in Denmark.

When Mozart in the Jungle won the Golden Globe for ‘Best Series – Musical or Comedy’ in 2016, I have to admit that I was a bit stunned. I had never heard of the show, but I was intrigued by it when I saw Gael García Bernal grab his award for ‘Best Actor – Musical or Comedy’. Bernal was the guy I chose to binge-watch both seasons in three days for, and season two of Mozart in the Jungle really relies heavily on his performance and character. The following is a review of the first season of Amazon Studio’s Mozart in the Jungle, available on Amazon Video, and on Viaplay in Denmark.

Based on the memoir of Blair Tindall, Mozart in the Jungle is a ‘dramedy’ featuring beautiful classical music. Set in New York City, the show follows Hailey Rutledge (Lola Kirke), a young and talented oboist, who is suddenly given an opportunity to shine on one of the grandest stages of them all. REVIEW: Master of None – Season One

Master of None Review

The following is a review of the first season of Netflix’s Master of None, created by Aziz Ansari & Alan Yang.

Whether you know Aziz Ansari from stand-up, from Scrubs as ‘Big’ Ed Dhandapani, or as Tom Haverford in Parks and Recreation you should know that he is a really funny guy. Now, after having worked with Netflix on Buried Alive and Live at Madison Square Garden, he is premiering his first TV-show with him as the main character as a Netflix Original Show. REVIEW: Wet Hot American Summer – First Day of Camp (2015)

“Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” is available on Netflix and functions as a prequel to the 2001 comedy “Wet Hot American Summer”

Let me preface this by saying that I didn’t watch the original film when it was first released. Somehow I had never heard of the film until a few years ago. Before watching the film I considered it a potential hidden gem featuring some of my favorite actors. Then I watched it, and I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. REVIEW: English Premier League 2014/2015

And there it is. Chelsea’s 5th Top League Title, 4th Premier League title.

Chelsea were the champions, which, of course, pleases me. They were on top from the start, and they, we, completely deserve it. But this season also marks the end of three great Premier League careers.

Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard end their Premier League careers, and will now go to the United States to take over the Major League Soccer. As a surprise on the last day of the season, Didier Drogba also revealed that it would be his very last game for Chelsea Football Club. Three great legends. When this spin-off from Breaking Bad was confirmed to be in development way back in 2013 I had my trepidations – I didn’t think it could work, I didn’t want anyone to mess with the legacy of something near-perfect. And the universe that Vince Gilligan had created with Breaking Bad was near perfect. But I was wrong about one thing: Better Call Saul‘s first season has only strengthened the universe – strengthened my attachment to the characters. REVIEW: Bloodline – Season One

I'm Jeffrey Rex - Bloodline Season OneBloodline is a new thriller-drama Netflix show that premiered on Friday March 20th 2015. Season One is up, and will probably be followed by a second season next year, seeing as this season is very entertaining. But I do have my qualms as this review should make clear by the end of it.

The show, made by the creators of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning show Damages, is about a Floridian family with a strong reputation; but also with an estranged member – the black sheep of the family, Danny (played by Ben Mendelsohn). Danny Rayburn quickly makes the family uneasy. As the shameful secrets of the Rayburn family are revealed to the audience, choices have to be made by Danny’s siblings.

Of course, don’t read this review until after you’ve seen the season. I might not spoil everything in this review, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. So, here’s your spoiler warning.

REVIEW: House of Cards – Season Three

Unless you’ve been under a rock since Thursday, you should be aware of the fact that season three of House of Cards is out on Netflix – go watch it if you haven’t. Now. Since its release I’ve been working hard to review every single episode of the season, and I am thankful that I finished it in the opening weekend. They function both as recaps and reviews – so if you forgot something then feel free to make good use of it.

Today I decided to release a full post on season three of House of Cards. Now if you’ve been following my episode reviews, then you already know that I mentioned some overall thoughts at the end of Chapter 39, but I thought I had more to say today.

So, first things first – did I like the season? Yes, I really did. I think a lot of the people that are disappointed expected the second coming of Heisenberg this season. But in many ways this season was always going to be about the illusion of the Presidency – the illusion of power. And what it means to be Commander in Chief.
