The following is a review of Bad Times at the El Royale — Directed by Drew Goddard.

There are some films that you can only recommend with a very specific caveat — that the movie felt as if it had been designed and made for you. This feeling can happen all the time, and when this happens I almost always find myself saying that “I absolutely loved it,” and then I limit my statement with a “but.” In the case of Bad Times at the El Royale, that sentence would probably look something like this: “I absolutely loved it, but there is a very real chance that its length and pace will annoy the hell out of you.”  (more…)

The following is a review of Hell or High Water – directed by David Mackenzie.

Former actor Taylor Sheridan – a WGA Award-nominated screenwriter – is beginning to make quite a name for himself. 2015’s Sicario, which Sheridan also wrote, was easily one of the best films of that year, and now, with Hell or High Water, he may have outdone himself. At the very least, I believe director David Mackenzie has made one of the best neowestern films that I’ve ever seen out of Sheridan’s original script.

Uncharted is one of the most beloved Sony PlayStation video game franchises of all-time. It is incredibly cinematic, and it definitely should become a movie, or a series of movies, one day in the future. The following is a retro review of Iron Man, a Jon Favreau film.

Jon Favreau’s Iron Man successfully kickstarted the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008. Few had expected that the film would be great – and nobody saw the greatness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe coming. Iron Man is one of the most groundbreaking superhero films of all-time, and is still one of the best in that genre.  (more…)
