REVIEW: Better Call Saul – “Sunk Costs”

In the third episode of the third season – Sunk Costs – Mike (played by Jonathan Banks) and Gus Fring (played by Giancarlo Esposito) discuss what to do about Hector Salamanca, and Jimmy (played by Bob Odenkirk) pleads not guilty. REVIEW: Better Call Saul – “Witness”

In the second episode of the third season – Witness – Chuck (played by Michael McKean) lays his trap, Jimmy (played by Bob Odenkirk) and Kim (played by Rhea Seehorn) hire an assistant, and Mike Ehrmantraut needs Jimmy’s help to figure out who has been watching him. Better Call Saul co-creator (and creator of Breaking Bad) Vince Gilligan directed Witness, and the episode was written by Thomas Schnauz. Damon Lindelof and Tom Perotta’s The Leftovers is back on HBO for its final eight episode long season. I managed to bingewatch the first two seasons of the show during my Easter break last week, and I am, honestly, hooked. REVIEW: Better Call Saul – “Mabel”

The following is a review and recap of the first episode of the third season of Better Call Saul, available on AMC in the U. S. and on Netflix internationally. Expect story spoilers. 

It’s finally that time of the year again. Better Call Saul, which is currently my favorite show on television, is back. You know, it’s funny. Before I had seen the show, I was extremely worried about Better Call Saul somehow retroactively hurting Breaking Bad. As we now know, my fears were unfounded as Better Call Saul has become not just a great spin-off show, but also my personal favorite spin-off show.

In the first episode of the third season – Mabel – ‘Gene’ briefly shows his true colors, Kim Wexler grows increasingly paranoid about her own work, Mike Ehrmantraut tries to figure out who’s been watching him, and Jimmy McGill has ten good minutes with his brother.

In The Lying Detective, which is loosely based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Adventure of the Dying Detective, Sherlock (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) meets the daughter of entrepreneur, Culverton Smith (played by Toby Jones), who claims that her father is a murderer, but she doesn’t know who he killed because Smith used a drug on her to make her forget about his confession. REVIEW: Sherlock: The Six Thatchers

The following is a spoiler-filled episode review of the Sherlock: Series 4, Episode 1 – The Six Thatchers

In The Six Thatchers, Lestrade has a case for Sherlock. A young man was found dead in his car outside his parents’ house in Britain, but their son was speaking to them from Tibet via Skype the day he died.
