REVIEW: Sherlock: The Reichenbach Fall

Sherlock - Reviewed

The following is a spoiler episode review of Sherlock: Series 2, Episode 3 – The Reichenbach Fall.

The Sherlock writing team took a lot of chances in series 2. Adapting The Hound of the Baskervilles was one, titling an episode The Reichenbach Fall was another. But none was bigger than what they chose to do to Sherlock Holmes in the series 2 finale.  Continue reading “REVIEW: Sherlock: The Reichenbach Fall”

REVIEW: Sherlock: The Hounds of Baskerville

The following is an episode review of Sherlock: Series 2, Episode 2 – The Hounds of Baskerville

The Hound of the Baskervilles is probably the most famous Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novel, and is actually the only Holmes crime novel I’ve read cover to cover. I read the novel when I was very young, and it is the one title I always think of when the topic of Sherlock Holmes comes up. So when the Sherlock writers announced that one of the series 2 episodes would be titled The Hounds of Baskerville, they had a lot of pressure to make something solid. Is it any good? Definitely. The following is an episode review of Sherlock: Series 1, Episode 2 – The Blind Banker

In The Blind Baker Watson (Freeman) and Holmes (Cumberbatch) are to discover what links the disappearance of Soo Lin Yao (Gemma Chan) to some rather indistinguishable ciphers, and a murdered victim being found inside a locked apartment made to look like a suicide. The game is afoot! But the episode, sadly, isn’t very good. Continue reading “REVIEW: Sherlock: The Blind Banker”

REVIEW: Sherlock: A Study In Pink

The following is an episode review of Sherlock: Series 1, Episode 1 – A Study in Pink

Recently, I decided to review every single episode of BBC’s Sherlock, one of my favorite shows still on the air. It all began with A Study in Pink, which I feared wouldn’t hold up as well as I remembered it. But, actually, the snappy dialogue kept me intrigued and pleased throughout the episode, in spite of the less-than-stellar whodunnit-revelation. Continue reading “REVIEW: Sherlock: A Study In Pink”

REVIEW: Jessica Jones – Season One (2015)

Jessica Jones Season Review

The following is a season one review of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, a Netflix Original show.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is a Netflix Original show created by Melissa Rosenberg, of Twilight and Dexter-fame, which continues the Netflix adventure for the Disney owned Marvel Universe. Set in the same world as Marvel’s Daredevil and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jessica Jones continues our journey to The Defenders mini-series. REVIEW: Master of None – Season One

Master of None Review

The following is a review of the first season of Netflix’s Master of None, created by Aziz Ansari & Alan Yang.

Whether you know Aziz Ansari from stand-up, from Scrubs as ‘Big’ Ed Dhandapani, or as Tom Haverford in Parks and Recreation you should know that he is a really funny guy.
