Sweet Jabba – that was spectacular. I don’t know about every other Star Wars fan, but I became really emotional when we finally saw Chewie and Han. But let’s talk about the teaser trailer, so if you’ve yet to see – take a look.
Unless you’ve been under a rock, you saw the first teaser trailer from months ago – it was fairly ominous at first, but became very much Star Wars-ey in the final shots featuring the Millenium Falcon (which we saw in this trailer as well). In the very first shot of this trailer, we got to see something rather spectacular – an X-Wing (foreground) and a Star Destroyer (background) buried in the sand of Jakku, a new planet to be introduced in The Force Awakens.

I absolutely love this shot, we see ships from the original films lie in the sand, and someone on a futuristic scooter passing by – somewhat symbolic. I suppose it’s Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, on the scooter, which I suppose is the one from the first teaser.
Then we see a shot of Vader’s burnt helmet. Leaks had hinted at this shot, and it is really powerful – but definitely outdone by the very final shot of the trailer.

Next up is the narrator, we presume – Luke Skywalker standing with R2-D2 near a fire or maybe lava. I’m a bit sad that we don’t get to see Luke’s face, but this is just a teaser trailer.

Then we move away from the shots of old ships, attire, and characters – to see someone new. We see Finn, Kylo Ren, and Rey – but the most powerful shot is the one of Kylo Ren (presumably Adam Driver) commanding an army, wielding the infamous new lightsaber, and using the force.

Now, onto the best shot of the trailer – brace yourselves…
“Chewie, we’re home.” (!!!) Yes, we finally see Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford). Star Wars fans are freaking out, in the best possible way. I became emotional, as did several other fans.

I understand that this trailer’s most emotional shot may not be that spectacular to people not familiar with Star Wars, but then again – this trailer really isn’t for them. There’s a reason why they premiered it at the Star Wars Celebration event.
I guess this trailer is for the die hards – the fans – more so than the first one was. I’m a big Star Wars fan, but this trailer made me even more excited for this film – and I didn’t know that was possible.
Please be excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
I’m Jeffrey Rex

I am psyched! I love the original trilogy, and this just had me jittery. I really don’t think this’ll disappoint.
I have a lot of faith in J.J. – one of the critique points for his original Star Trek film was that it was too ‘Star Wars’. + He’s a fan. It should be spectacular.
