The following is a review of Nocturnal Animals – Directed by Tom Ford.

In Nocturnal Animals, Susan Morrow (played by Amy Adams), a gallery owner, receives the manuscript for a novel by her ex-husband, Edward Sheffield (played by Jake Gyllenhaal). She is now married to Hutton Morrow (played by Armie Hammer) and she’s losing touch with her husband, who is actively cheating on her. Susan is surprised to learn that Edward has dedicated the novel to her, and even more disturbed, but intrigued, by the story which takes place in West Texas and is a very violent revenge story. The following is a review of Gods of Egypt – Directed by Alex Proyas.

I’ve been a fan of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ever since I first saw him in Ole Bornedal’s Nattevagten (not to be confused with the American remake, Nightwatch). I was really happy to see him get a big role in HBO’s Game of Thrones, and I’ve loved him as Jaime Lannister. It’s a great character for an actor I enjoy watching. The following is a quick review of White Girl – Directed by Elizabeth Wood.

Elizabeth Wood’s feature film debut follows Leah (played by Morgan Saylor) – the titular white girl – who has just moved into an apartment in Queens and is an intern at a young, hip magazine. Leah soon starts dating Blue (played by Brian Marc) who she met when she was looking for drugs, and, as it turns out, she’s about to become a bad influence on him. The following is a review of Florence Foster Jenkins – Directed by Stephen Frears.

Florence Foster Jenkins tells the true story of the American socialite who, in the 1940s, dreamed of becoming an opera singer who could perform at the greatest concert venues in the world. Unfortunately, Foster Jenkins (played by Meryl Streep) didn’t have a good singing voice, but her husband and manager, St. Clair Bayfield (played by Hugh Grant), loved her too much to tell her. REVIEW: How to be Single (2016)

The following is a review of How to be Single – Directed by Christian Ditter.

How to be Single tries to tell multiple stories about single life from the perspectives of three women. Alice (played by Dakota Johnson) who struggles with her new status as a single woman after breaking up with her boyfriend. Alice’s wild co-worker Robin (played by Rebel Wilson). And, finally, Meg (played by Leslie Mann) – an OB/GYN – who is happy being alone, until she one day falls in love with the idea of having a baby.

REVIEW: The BFG (2016)

The following is a review of The BFG – Directed by Steven Spielberg.

The BFG follows a little orphan girl – Sophie (played by Ruby Barnhill) – who is abducted by a mysterious giant (played by Mark Rylance) after she spots him in the dark streets outside her window. Thankfully, he is a ‘Big Friendly Giant’ who, unlike other giants, doesn’t eat people. The following is a quick review of Criminal – Directed by Ariel Vromen.

In Vromen’s Criminal, a valuable CIA agent (played by Ryan Reynolds) is killed, but the CIA, led by Quaker Wells (played by Gary Oldman), are in desperate need of his memories. So they contact Dr. Franks (played by Tommy Lee Jones) who might be able to transfer the agents memories into the body of a convict (played by Kevin Costner) so that they can finish the CIA mission. The following is a quick review of Weiner – Directed by Josh Kriegman & Elyse Steinberg.

Anthony Weiner’s career has been really strange, so far. Some ups, but many downs. In Kriegman and Steinberg’s fly-on-the-wall documentary Weiner, we follow Anthony Weiner during his disastrous 2013 mayoral campaign.

At that time, his relationship with Huma Abedin – an aide to Hillary Clinton – was already on the rocks, so to speak, after Weiner tweeted an inappropriate picture, which ended up forcing him to resign as a member of Congress. What’s absolutely fantastic about this documentary, however, is how the 2013 campaign suddenly became a story about another damaging sexting scandal. REVIEW: Barry (2016)

The following is a quick review of Barry – Directed by Vikram Gandhi.

Some part of me thinks that it is too early for us to see a Barack Obama biopic – seeing as he is still the sitting President for another month – but, at the time of writing, we already have two films. Thankfully, I’m happy to report that this film – Vikram Gandhi’s Barry – definitely isn’t a waste of time. In fact, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed watching it.
