The following list contains spoilers for films from 2010.

It’s week seven of the Heroes and Villains period of Top Ten Tuesday, and that means I’ve finally gotten to the heroes lists. Do note that these characters aren’t solely ranked on how heroic their actions are. Without further ado, here are the top ten movie heroes of 2010.

10 – Kick-Ass – Kick-Ass

Dave Lizewski is the protagonist in Kick-Ass, and he’s pretty fun to watch – but he doesn’t hold a candle to some of the other characters in the film. Speaking of Kick-Ass

9 – Big Daddy – Kick-Ass

It’s funny really. I guess to some people Nicolas Cage is just ‘that guy’ from Kick-Ass.

8 – Teddy Daniels – Shutter Island

Shutter Island doesn’t get a lot of love, but I thoroughly enjoyed that movie, and Leo’s character is a big reason why I did.

7 – Tony Stark / Iron Man – Iron Man 2

Iron Man 2 is the weakest film in the first phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and, for some, it may even be the weakest film in the entire universe so far. But the film is fun to watch because of our hero, and Downey, Jr. is one of the best superhero actors at this time.

6 – Doug – The Town

Is Doug a hero? I guess you could say that he isn’t, but he’s just such an interesting protagonist from one of the great films of 2010.

5 – Dobby – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One

Remember when you hated Dobby? It’s pretty amazing how much one’s view of him has changed.

4 – Dom Cobb – Inception

Dom Cobb – the master of the art of inception – is one of the reasons why this film is so incredibly rewatchable.

3 – Woody – Toy Story 3

Take a deep breath. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Excuse me. I love Toy Story so much, and I think Woody is one of the biggest reasons why. Woody always loved Andy, and this really is the only way their story together could end. Such a lovely, but sad, end to a fantastic film.

2 – Scott Pilgrim – Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Honestly, I feel like this movie gets better every time I watch it. Scott Pilgrim is so fun to watch here, and Michael Cera was perfect for the role.

1 – Hit Girl – Kick-Ass

I really like Kick-Ass, I love Big Daddy, but Hit Girl is, easily, the best character in the film. So memorable.

Who was your favorite movie hero of 2010? Sound off in the comments.
