Desert Island – Q and A

Desert Island - Q&A

Stranded on a desert island. One of the classic conversation starter scenarios. Today, I am going to answer four questions about that kind of situation, in the first ‘Sunday Q&A-post’ ever on this blog. Feel free to give your own answers in the comments. Let’s get to it.

  • If you could only bring three things with you to a desert island, what would you bring?

An emergency flare, a yacht, and fuel. Of course. If I couldn’t bring things that would help me off the island, then I would probably go with a machete, a beach umbrella, and a chaise longue.

  • If you were stranded on a desert island, would you rather be able to watch movies or listen to music?

Okay, so I don’t know how I would be able to. But it would definitely be movies. And it’s not just because I love movies a lot. If you were stuck on a desert island, then I think it would be great for you to be able to at least see other people – even if it was on a TV-screen.

  • If you could bring one book with you to a desert island, what book would you choose?

I’ve always wanted to read Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, so that would probably be my first pick. If I were to bring my favorite book with me, then it would be The Great Gatsby – but that would be a short re-read.

  • Finally – in true Cast Away fashion – what kind of ball would you want to be your companion, and what would you call it?

I mean, no matter what I would probably just call it Wilson. But if I were to think about something different? Well, then give me a soccer ball. As for a name? Steve the soccer ball sounds right, right?
