Listen. You can hate the movie. You can dislike the movie. But right now, out there, there are a ton of articles lying in wait. A ton of journalists spouting anger at this film, but more so at the comic book movie itself.
Now, I loved the film – as stated in my review. But I can definitely understand where the film would fall apart for you. This isn’t a perfect movie. But it certainly isn’t a bad one. If you claim to say that this film is bad, then I question the number of films you’ve seen. Have you seen, say, Batman & Robin? Attack of the Clones? Havoc?
These are bad films. So at worst, Age of Ultron is a mediocre Marvel movie. What pisses me off is that people are saying this is clearly the beginning of the end for superhero films. That’s just silly. 74% on Rotten Tomatoes is not bad at all. It’s, in just three weeks, gotten past the numbers that Guardians of the Galaxy pulled in in its entire box office run.
To me, it looks like people are hating on Whedon’s last Marvel film for one unfair reason:
– They can’t get over the first film: Some people just think that this film cannot be as good as or better than the first Avengers-film, due to the fact that we’ve already seen them on screen together once. That’s just silly.
No, Avengers is not a perfect film – neither is Age of Ultron. But they certainly aren’t bad. So that’s it. That’s my rant. Thanks for reading. Have a Marvelous Monday!
Do you agree? Are you as pissed off as I am?
