REVIEW: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – “Kimmy Goes to the Doctor!”

I'm Jeffrey Rex Episode Review - Netflix - Unbreakable Kimmy SchmidtThe following is a review of the fourth episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Expect some spoilers in the review.

Don’t cover up your problems. One of the biggest responsibilities of a sitcom is to be a stern moral guide, every single sitcom has those moments wherein they teach you about life. In the fourth episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt we’re taught how to deal with our problems, how we shouldn’t run from them – but fight through them.

The episode was really entertaining, and its top three jokes were the selfie-training, the Law Squiggle Order, and how Kimmy called the present the future.Tituss Burgess had a great episode, and this was the most interesting story for Andromedon yet – some might actually argue that this was his episode all along.

Martin Short was of course the plastic surgeon ‘Franff’, and he was… uhm… Very creepy. Then again, he was to represent everything fake and redesigned about life, so he did what he was supposed to do.

After two episodes that had Jane Krakowski be the outstanding figure, she took a step back in episode four – but she did have her highlight, the selfie-training as mentioned earlier.

Nothing new in the portrayal of Kimmy Schmidt, which is a good thing for Ellie Kemper has been masterful at balancing the funny girl and go-getter attitudes.

Kimmy is starting to relax much more, and this episode set her up to take on the new world, and simultaneously accept her role in it.
