REVIEW: Preacher – “Pilot”

The following is a review of the first episode of ‘Preacher’, available on AMC in the United States and on Viaplay in Denmark. Expect spoilers for the episode.

It’s here. Welcome to Preacher! A supernatural dark comedy about exploding preachers, crazy vampires, and a crisis of faith. Maybe? That’s pretty much all I know about the show. When I sat down to watch the pilot episode, I had no idea what I was about to watch. The story is completely fresh to me at this time. I may end up reading the comic book that it is based on, but probably not until after the first season is finished. I didn’t know what to expect. But this show may be perfect for me right now. Recently, I decided to review every single episode of BBC’s Sherlock, one of my favorite shows still on the air. It all began with A Study in Pink, which I feared wouldn’t hold up as well as I remembered it.
