• Resident Evil: The Final Chapter – Sony / Screen Gems – January 27th, 2017 – $22 million

1. Captain America: Civil War – Buena Vista – $1,153 billion
2. Finding Dory – Buena Vista – $1,027 billion
3. Zootopia – Buena Vista – $1,023 billion
4. The Jungle Book – Buena Vista – $966 million
5. The Secret Life of Pets – Universal – $875 million
6. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Warner Bros. – $873 million
7. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – Buena Vista – $801 million
8. Deadpool – Fox – $783 million
9. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – Warner Bros. – $777 million

As you may have noticed, the Box Office Report is for the entirety of 2016. Above you see the current top ten grossing movies of last year (worldwide). There aren’t a lot of surprises here, other than the fact that Disney dominated the top four, and, really, the entire year. Animated movies, superhero movies, a Potterverse movie and The Jungle Book – that’s the top ten. Rogue One still has a chance of moving closer to the top five, I guess, but this is the one and only 2016 Box Office Report.
