MMXV – This Is 2015

This post acts as a brief piece of information. In this post I will try to jot down the important events in Pop-Culture that this blog will take special care of – as well as prepare the readers for what kind of posts are a part of 2015 on I’m Jeffrey Rex.

DISCONTINUED
One of the things I did in 2014 was to have the bimonthly post ‘What Am I Reading?’, it revolved around the various comic books, art works, or assigned books that I was to read in January and February – for example. After doing that for a year in 2014, I’ve decided to discontinue ‘What Am I Reading?’. As this blog becomes more aware of what it should be, I feel that I must let go of things that aren’t working for the blog. This is one of the posts being discontinued, just like I discontinued the Cycling-posts long ago.

Unless something drastically changes my mood, then the weekly Preview-posts on NFL will be discontinued as well. I’ll still do a Season Preview (Perhaps also review), some Foreign Perspective-updates on NFL, and yes, I’ll probably still fail miserably at predicting the NFC North and South.

MMXV POSTS
In 2015 this blog will feature reviews of must-watch TV on Netflix, while not abandoning the movie focus on the site. My main focus on I’m Jeffrey Rex will still be Film Reviews. I hope to release even more reviews in 2015 (of 2015-films) than in 2014 (of 2014-films). Also, I need to address the fact that films like Birdman, The Imitation Game, The Interview, Whiplash, and Foxcatcher have not yet been reviewed. These films, along with others I failed to mention, have not been released in my region in 2014. They are still 2014 films to me, but won’t battle for the 2014 Movie of the Year-crown, as it has already been handed out. Instead they sit in limbo, and I might actually mention which 2014-Regional-Limbo film was the best. I might.

In 2014 my New Year’s Resolution was to watch 365 films in 365 days. This year, however, I am trying to write about comic books again. My most well-received post on this blog was ‘Getting Back Into Comic Books’, and I want to recapture that feeling when writing this year. I will try to release posts about certain storylines, events, and/or new heroes.

I want to make it clear that I want to keep writing speculation-posts about films. I have a section on this site called ‘Proposition for Kevin Feige’, and I hope to keep adding to that category in 2015. That is a big goal for me.

Finally, a big part of me wants to be featured on YouTube or on a Podcast – I might look into that, but don’t expect one right away – just know that it is on my mind. Maybe that’ll happen in 2016.

MMXV FILMS
The following is a list of the films I am most excited about in 2015:

  • Kingsman: The Secret Service, to be released in my region on the 26th of February 2015.
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron, to be released in my region on the 23rd of April 2015.
  • Jurassic World, to be released in my region on the 11th of June 2015.
  • Ant-Man, to be released in my region on the 16th of July 2015.
  • The Fantastic Four, to be released in my region on the 6th of August 2015.
  • Spectre, to be released in my region on the 6th of November 2015.
  • Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, to be released in my region on the 17th of December 2015.

Do notice that a film like Terminator: Genisys is not on there. While I love that franchise, I don’t feel confident about that movie, and I fear it might be turning itself into a joke soon… These films above will definitely be reviewed in time this year – unless something weird happens. Also do expect films like Terminator, the new Mad Max, and also the reboot of Vacation to be reviewed if released in time.

Thanks for reading this post, and I hope your new year will be a good one.

I’m Jeffrey Rex.
