REVIEW: Daredevil – “The Ones We Leave Behind”

I'm Jeffrey Rex Episode Review - Daredevil - The Ones we leave behindMarvel’s Daredevil is a new Netflix show from the same universe as the Avengers films. Expect spoilers for every review this season. “The Ones We Leave Behind” is the twelfth episode of the first season, the penultimate episode.

This episode was bookended by two assaults by Wilson Fisk – and sadly, only one of them was in the form of a nightmare. The dream sequence didn’t worry me, ’cause like many others, I presume, I knew that Karen Page wouldn’t be killed off. She’s too important to the story, to Matt, to Foggy.

Ben Urich did die in this episode, and he was victim to the final assault. The character never won me over, but the actor did – Vondie Curtis-Hall did a good job this season, even if his death was slightly predictable.

In truth, most of the episode was. Owlsley was always my number 1 suspect. I am glad, however, that it looks like they’re keeping Madame Gao for something more important – perhaps season two, perhaps The Defenders.

All in all, this episode was too predictable – it saddens me that it feels forgettable, for a great actor left a job in this one.

Just one hour left of Netflix’ first superhero season.
