We’re about to start July, and thus everyone will be needing some reading material (unless you’re not into that kind of thing), so this week’s post is all about comic books! Obviously it’ll only cover Marvel Comics, so if you’re a DC guy or gal – just follow the Bat-family. Nevertheless, I’ve got 3 comic book series that I’ve enjoyed or am enjoying from Marvel Comics, which I am recommending today. (more…)
The following is a review of “Night Finds You” from the second season of True Detective, beware of spoilers.
The second episode of the second arc of True Detective began the ‘partnership’ that we had been waiting for, but also gave us some of the magical speeches that the show perfected in the first season. We had the first real cliffhanger of the season, and suddenly the Caspere-case is much more interesting. But the Fukunaga-less second season is definitely still finding its feet. (more…)
The following is a spoiler-free review of Terminator Genisys (2015).
Let me preface this by saying that I love the James Cameron Terminator-films, and even though the 3rd and 4th entries in the franchise were underwhelming, I’ve been very hopeful for this franchise. The Sarah Connor Chronicles was the last good entry in the franchise. I really wanted to like this new beginning of a fresh Terminator-trilogy. But in the end, I got what I feared – another subpar Terminator-film. (more…)
We are counting down what seems to be the final hours of Petr Čech’s Chelsea FC playing career. Rumors and papers suggest that he’ll be staying in London, they suggest that he’ll be playing for Arsenal for the next couple of seasons – thus making a rival a true title-contender. This is a sad rumor, which I suspect to be true, but in the end we have to respect his decision. For this isn’t him saying he’d rather play at Arsenal. No, this is him saying he’d rather play than be on the bench. (more…)
The following is a spoiler-free review of True Detective: Season 2 – Episode 1.
It’s that time of year – True Detective is back on HBO. I never wrote a full review of the first season, or any of the episodes, but I really loved it. When I was handing out ‘awards’ and praise in my annual IJR Awards back in December, Matthew McConaughey was my TV Actor of 2014 – and the first season made it my TV Show of 2014. Now the anthology crime drama is back. (more…)
On August 1st 1986 – almost 29 years ago – Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, and Universal Pictures released the critically panned sci-fi comedy comic book movie Howard The Duck. On today’s Marvelous Monday, I look into the character everyone loved in the Guardians of the Galaxy post-credits scene. (more…)
The following is a ranking of the top 10 characters in the Jurassic Park-Franchise
Seeing as Jurassic World is breaking all of the box office records none of us thought could be broken by a fourth entry in a franchise that has been silent since 2001, I decided to make my own list of the very best characters in the Jurassic-Franchise.
Do note that no dinosaurs will be mentioned, as they – quite frankly – would dominate any list that included them. Don’t worry, no significant spoilers for Jurassic World will be revealed in this post – just in case someone out there didn’t see the blockbuster. (more…)
